Joined: Mar 2016 Posts: 8 | Has anyone else experienced this? Starting having mouth pain last weekend, radiating from my jaw to my ear. Had MRI (previously scheduled) on Wednesday night. Went to dentist thinking I had a tooth problem; turns out MRI showed mass in salivary gland. Taking antibiotic and using warm compresses.
Have been using SalivaMax and the salt water/baking soda mouthwash regularly since radiation in early April. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Joined: Jun 2007 Posts: 10,507 Likes: 6 | I would suggest making an appointment with your ENT to have a thorough exam, especially if you havent noticed any improvement after a couple days of antibiotics. It could be nothing but just in case get checked out.
Being about 3 months post rads, you will notice many ups and downs with your recovery. After what you have gone thru, you are probably much more aware of anything thats even slightly different. This is a good thing! When something unusual comes up in the head and neck areas, see your ENT. Im always super cautious and always advise patients/survivors get everything checked out. Better to be safe than sorry.
