I am on a 2-3 month watch and yesterday I had my 10 month check. All is well! I am grateful and would like to say I wasn't anxious about the appt. but that's not true. My head plays games with me and I was frightened and cranky the whole week before. I can't seem to get past the anxiety and worry. Normal?

I am a 65 year old reitired woman. I have been married to a great man for 42 years. I had a right breast masectomy 15 years ago.

squamous cell carcinoma under my tongue was diagnosed earlier this month. I had surgery 2/3/15. 22 lymph nodes out of my neck came back negative for metasis. The Drs. say I do not need chemo or radiation. I'm off the feeding tube and now on a liquid/soft food diet. I see the surgeon again next week. I am grateful and optimistic.

Anxiety around check time is completely normal. Most OC patients go thru heck during treatment and recovery. Just a hint of having to go thru another round or even anything else like what you just experienced is certainly something to be nervous about. With time it gets easier.

Wise words Christine. A funny thing happens to me. If I have a good check up I feel exhausted afterwards, as if the build up of anxiety and sudden relief have taken it out of me. It's a good way to get exhausted though.
