Hello All,

After having a few rough years that included stage 4 tonsil cancer & a reoccurrence. (Chemo, radiation, surgery, interopertive radiation, & more radiation) I decided that since I've always wanted to live on a tropical island that now was the time to do it. So I recently moved to St. Thomas, in the US Virgin Islands. And yes, the weather and the beaches are great.

I'm lucky to be cancer free since 2011, but I'm living with a g tube and managing some treatment related disabilities. So I'm hoping to find a doctor here to help me with my g tube, medications and enteral supplies.

I'm also interested in meeting other tubies who live here or might be visiting here.

Does any one here have any suggestions?

Thank you so much.

Chemo
G Tube

SCC Right Tonsil the second time 12/2010
Surgery with inter-operative radiation 1/2011
More radiation until 5/2011

Now retired and trying to live the good life as a beach bum while being a tubie. So far so good.

Welcome to OCF, Bill. We have members from all over the world. Unfortunately, off the top of my head I cant remember anyone from St Thomas. With over 13,000 members we must have at least one from your area in paradise.

When looking for a Gastro doc, I would suggest calling your insurance company to see who is available. They should also help you find a family doc and an ENT to oversee your post cancer care.

Best wishes with your big move smile

Hi Bill,I can't help with any of your queries but I love that you are living your dream.
Do you have a Mickey button in situ? Are you able to change this yourself? It is a very simple procedures hat I have done myself many, many times.
Hope all goes well for you with your new home and lifestyle.

HI there welcome. I don't live in St. Thomas either... however there is a place on the web founded by someone from here that is for tube feeders and talks about diet etc... there may be someone else their from St. Thomas. I would enquire.

I think it's called drink your nutrition or something. search it to see what you come up with. It has recipes for people who prefer to "eat" more healthfully - rather than just ingesting formula type food. Anyway best of luck.
