Welcome! Sorry to see you, but this is a great place full of people who have experieced situations similar to what you are and will go through.

It sounds as if you've already taken the important steps necessary to get yourself all fixed up at one of the best CCC's available to you. They'll be able to guide you into receiving the most appropriate treatment for your particular situation.

So once that is taken care of, there are a few things that you actually have direct control of. Firstly, try not to spend too much time worrying! I know that's very difficult, but worrying about it doesn't do anything to benefit your situation - it makes it worse by sapping your energy and not letting you sleep properly.

Other things you can do now, are get your diet in order (if changes are necessary), keep exercising & start to line up your family & friends to help when you need it. You'll probably find that most of them will really want to help - they'll come to you once they know what's going on. If you're lucky like I was, you'll have to beat them down with a stick because you'll have more help than what you actually need! I was on the receiving end of cleaning and cooking assitance, rides to & from appointments, various forms of entertainment & just plain visits when I needed to see a friendly face. It was wonderful!

Eat all of your favourites now, because it may be quite a while until you can enjoy them again, depending on what kind of treatment you ultimately end up receiving. Many of us have had to deal with liquid diets and/or eat with the aid of feeding tubes.

Hon, do what you can to move the process along, call - ask about cancellation lists etc... The pressure could be stress related. Rads and chemo are the standard options for your type of OC - hugs and blessings to you...
