OP madelainepagni Member Joined: Feb 2015 Posts: 17 Oregon	5 1/2 weeks post surgery. Arm graft (and blood clot site) healing well as is neck dissection. Just started to chew bits of food yesterday as it still hurts. Using whey in smoothies and having puddings and ice cream. I see surgeon for another f/u next month. Some discussion about trimming excess on my flap. Just wanted to keep connected and thank everyone for educating me on this forum I am a 65 year old reitired woman. I have been married to a great man for 42 years. I had a right breast masectomy 15 years ago. squamous cell carcinoma under my tongue was diagnosed earlier this month. I had surgery 2/3/15. 22 lymph nodes out of my neck came back negative for metasis. The Drs. say I do not need chemo or radiation. I'm off the feeding tube and now on a liquid/soft food diet. I see the surgeon again next week. I am grateful and optimistic.

The arm site takes quite a while to settle down but after a while it's just a scar which even starts to regain a skin coloured tone. Good on you for eating and chewing. I hope your flap doesn't need more work. Best wishes Maureen 1996, ovarian cancer surgery + cisplatin and taxol. September, 2007, SCC of left lateral tongue. Excision. October, 2009 recurrence in scar tissue, T1NOMO. Free flap surgery from left wrist - neck dissection. 63 year old New Zealander. No chemo, no RT. February, 2014. New primary in left buccal mucosa. Marginal mandibulectomy, neck dissection, right arm free forearm flap. T1N0M0 but third occurrence and some areas of concern: RT started 8 April and finished 19 May.
