I have also read in my research about this possibility, and now I see on the news today a vaccine due out in 2006 to prevent cervical cancer. Have you heard anything on the possibility of this preventing oral cancer recurrence also?

It must be given at an age before sexual activity begins (before contracting the virus). At this time in girls they are considering a recommended age of 12 - 15. If this vaccine was to have implications for HN HPV caused cancer then one would assume that it would have to be given before the virus was even in the body.
Mark, 21 Year survivor, SCC right tonsil, 3 nodes positive, one with extra-capsular spread. I never asked what stage (would have scared me anyway) Right side tonsillectomy, radical neck dissection right side, maximum radiation to both sides, no chemo, no PEG, age 40 when diagnosed.
