Im so glad to see you are not afraid to reach out and ask others to pitch in.
The blisters around the peg site are probably granulated tissue. This can be very painful. The trick to managing this is to put drain sponges along with a little silver sulfadine cream around the site. If his tube is leaking fluid at the site then a few times per day it needs to be cleaned. Try using something very soft like babywipes to gently cleanse the area and apply a very thin coat of the silver sulfadine cream (prescription) then put a drain sponge gauze pad on top of the cream to prevent the bumper from rubbing directly on the sensitive skin. If the granulation is really bad, take him to the gastro doc and they can snip it off or use silver nitrate sticks to burn it off. The procedure sounds much worse than it really is.

The granulation is painful because I have noticed that when he has it, John won't even stand up straight. The nurse told us when cleaning the site to gently dab and not rub it. The more you rub, the worse the granulation gets.
