Just get the biopsy and wait for the results. If it's leukoplakia, it could convert to cancer at some point, but supposedly it's rare.
40 y.o., undiagnosed, spitting up blood past 4-5 months at random intervals, several enlarged lymph nodes under chin and neck, biopsy of one showed benign viral lymphadenopathy. Still being monitored by ENT.

Biopsy is the definitive way to diagnose these things, its really the only way to be sure. You should get the biopsy done and the doctor will know what to do next, depending on what they find. First, quit using all forms of tobacco immediately! Another member mentioned leukoplakia (often is a pre-cancer) which it could be, among many other things. If facing a pre-cancer situation you do not want to continue to dump more poison onto the area giving it more fuel to turn into a major health situation. By eliminating tobacco, this will free your mouth from increased toxins helping to give it a chance to heal. White patches inside your mouth are not normal. Any sore that has been in your mouth for 2 or more weeks needs to be checked by a medical professional. The biopsy will examine the tissue sample and determine exactly what it is.
Im hoping it turns out to be nothing more serious than an irritation. Best wishes!!!
