Hello,

As mentioned in another thread, my mom's cancer has returned and spread to the lower spine, left lung, and 8th rib. She will begin chemo soon but was curious as to which foods she should avoid. She was informed to cut down on milk (This is tough because she barely has any remaining teeth and finds it difficult to chew and eat many solid foods. I was also informed to avoid sugar

Hum, avoid milk? That makes it difficult. Can you make an appointment with a nutritionist? I made protein shakes for my husband with soy-based protein just as a change from the dairy-based one. They were not well-received :-( so I am hoping someone with a better track record for non-dairy meals comes along.
There are commercial meal-replacements available.

Where is the advice to avoid milk and sugar? Does she have problems with lactose or is she a diabetic? If there are complications in feeding you definitely should be getting advice from a dietitian. Cutting back on one thing or another can leave her short on nutrition at a time when the body needs it most.
