Hello all,
I just wanted to give u a little update on my check up with my surgeon/ENT.... I saw him today 9/8/14. First thing he said was "you look great". I told him about the bumps on both inside cheeks and under my tongue. Plus my tongue swollen. So he put on his gloves and said lets have a look. First thing he said was the one under my tongue was a blocked salivary gland. The ones on my cheek, irritation from chewing and eating. Swollen tongue, from blocked glands. He said to me 4 times, that is all normal from treatment. See you in 2 months after my pet scan... I am relieved. Prayers to you all.

Tongue Cancer
1/2 tongue removed, replaced by flap from forearm. April 15, 2014
neck disection, 1 lympnode involved, doctors removed all to make sure cancer is gone.
30 rad treatments and 2 cisplatin chemo, doctor said I did not need the third
one. Finished up July 30,2014
Chemo treatment was my choice. The board felt surgery and radiation was plenty to take care of my cancer.

Thanks. I noticed since i started eating a lot of crazy stuff has been going on in the mouth. Plus, my swallowing hurts a little. He said its from using the muscles and im not fully healed.... He also said that its a 6 month to a year recovery . Or longer.. When i was going through surgery i thought i would be back to work in no time. Well was i wrong..... Gotta take it day by day, and just happy to be alive and fighting. Prayers to all

Great news! You can start work any time you feel like it. You've already surpassed all reasonable expectations. smile

Lol. Thanks. One problem, my employment terminated me. I worked there for 10 years. Busted my hump for them. I plan on getting a lawyer involved soon...

Good luck pursuing that. Start looking for something if you feel up to it. Only you know.
