4 months out after 35 rad and cysplatin HPV related stage 3 no nodes. Pet scan coming soon. When I eat ,doesnt matter what, feels like stuff is hanging up in throat on left side or back. After 1-2 hours it goes away. While this happens my voice gets hoarser.Very uncomfortable feeling but not chocking. Anyone ever have this!

I actually have the same problem, (i'm 3 months post rads) however that feeing of gunk hanging in the back of my throat actually never seems to go away. So obviously, I have no answers, but am very glad you posted the question. Hopefully we will get someone who can help us out. smile

how many rads did you have and did you also have chemo. When you try to clear your throat do any food particles come up.I saw an ENT twice for this just recently. Hew scoped me and said everything looks good. It is a swallowing thing so I am doing those excercises wish I had done them from the beginning. Also I feel stuff splashing to the back of my nose. Orange juice burns the heck out of my nose!

Maybe see a SLP, Speech Language Pathologist, to do a swallow study. Good luck.

Likely you're still not healed and there is a viscous mucous that can catch food and stuff and cause a bit of horseness... drink lots of fluids if you can with your meal. It may help.
