So I went to get my haircut today. Same place as normal and I get the same somewhat not quite right person to cut my hair.

She mistakenly thinks she knows me and talks to me about things I know nothing of. Being who I am I always play along and give vague responses. It's always kind of entertaining. She talks incessantly so I don't need to act much. Every couple of months we go through this routine.

So it started out like normal today. "Have you been taking out the boat much". "No not lately, but the weather has been beautiful" (i don't own a boat.). " how are those fuzzy headed kids?" "Good, good" ( neither of mine are fuzzy).

So then she gets around behind me and sees the hair loss from radiation. "What's going on here? Did you try to fix something yourself?" "No, I have cancer"

Silence.

I guess she is going to keep quiet from now on. I go to the same barber, actually hair salon, for the past 35 years, so when he, the owner, saw me come in after 8 months post chemo, his jaw dropped. Was no hiding anything with my weight loss, hair loss, and walking in with my walker that something was wrong. He does a great job in keeping my hair looking its fullest after chemo and radiation, but it's not the same thickness as it was. Even at 52, I'm lucky to have a full set of hair.

I like the boat thing lol. Even if someone gets my name wrong, I go with the flow lol, and don't say anything.
