i called my ENT's office this morning to see if I can have my results. The secretary told me that she would look at my file to see if they are in and if the results are ok she would call me back.
She just did and all she said was " Chantal, I am confirming that we will still see you on Wednesday ? " Help !!! I know what is coming and I am not ready for it. I start a new job on August 5th and I can't be sick.
Do you think it's possible to still work through treatments ? I am bessides myself.
The pain was gone for the last week ... I need prayers. | | | | Joined: Dec 2010 Posts: 5,260 Likes: 3 "OCF Canuck" Patient Advocate (old timer, 2000 posts) | "OCF Canuck" Patient Advocate (old timer, 2000 posts) Joined: Dec 2010 Posts: 5,260 Likes: 3 | It could be you are clear - maybe there is some info you need to have explained, hugs!

It will help you from getting too stressed over the unknown.
I agree with Cheryl, it could be something else they want to review with you. Most professionals wont tell results over the phone so dont take that as a bad sign.
Keep us posted.

Didn't realize you were here on OCF too. Keep cool. Like I said. Until you hear the words come out of your ENT's mouth it's not cancer. He did say that he was 95% sure you were fine after the biopsy so hang onto that with both hands until tomorrow.

As was said most offices won't give you cancer results over the phone so the airhead should have been instructed to say "The Doctor has your results and he never shares them with his staff until he meets with the patient. I see you have a scheduled Wednesday appointment so I'm sure he will go over the report with you at that time."
Fortunately you won't have to wait much longer and please calm down as I'm sure you know getting upset won't change anything and can't make things better. Yeah I know, easier said than done but at least give it a try.
Do let us know the minute you can what you are told.

Two VERY LONG weeks later I finally got a call from his office saying the doc wants to see you this afternoon at 3pm. Problem is I knew his office closed at 2pm everyday so I didn't think he wanted all his patients gone to throw me a party! More like he wanted all his patients gone so they couldn't hear my screaming!!

When I first went to the ENT last Novemeber, I was coming off my 2nd heart attack and cardiac stents. I had certainly just been through a lot. Five years prior was my 1st heart attack and bypass surgery. We talked initially while he asked questions. I told him my fears and asked him to be totally straight up and not pull any punches. Tell me what he thought was going on. I was convinced, as you are, that I had cancer. Lymphoma to be exact. So he examined me, did the scope etc... He sat down in front of me, looked me in the eyes and said. "I think this is cancer. I'm not sure exactly what type but I've seen enough of this through the years to say it's cancer". He did a fine needle biopsy and I got the positive results the next week for SCC H&N. Initially I was relieved as I never heard of SCC, I was just glad it wasn't Lymphoma! ....relieved until I read about SCC that is! Now you on the other hand, have been told the complete opposite. 95% sure you're fine even after the biopsy. He was in there looking around and still thinks your fine. WAY better than what I heard from my doctor "T"
