Hello Survivors!

We have an annual golf tournament benefitting OCF that is being organized for July 10 in Minneapolis, MN. They are looking for an oc survivor to speak at the dinner that is held after golfing. The organizer, Joan Willshire, lost her husband to oral cancer 3 years ago and does this to honor him and support OCF. If you are interested, please contact Joan at [email protected]

Thank you!!

Susan

I just emailed Joan for additional information. I would love to have my husband speak!!! Keep your fingers crossed that he will agree. (Thankfully he will do just about anything these days including eating all the healthy food and green smoothies I make him.) I am anxious to see if he will agree to this with his "no need to attitude" about his cancer but he is a Pastor so speaking would be no problem.

I am shocked!! I am emailed Joan and was going to wait until I had details about the Golf Tournament to benefit OCF but as usual I couldn't keep it to myself. I just had to tell my husband about my idea of him speaking at the event. I couldn't believe he was interested and I didn't even have to twist his arm. I heard back from Joan tonight and it is a go. This will be interesting, I will have to coax him a on a couple things. With his "no need to know attitude" he doesn't even know the name of his cancer.

That is awesome!! Go Terrib!!!!

The OCF events are fun, and healing, and amazing, it's like magic and I encourage everyone to attend one. Meeting others that know the struggle, it's like meeting a family member, kin. Getting to listen to others survivors stories and how they handle survivorship, I've learned so much in the last year being able to be a part of the OCF events it just blows me away.

Susan Lauria, Jamie O'Day and all of our organizers and volunteers do an amazing job for us, and I hope to see more members on these forums stepping out and sharing and plugging in, our stories are powerful and there is strength in numbers. That's how you beat cancer and raise survival rates. Love the spirit sister!!!!
