Eshwar, so glad you have responded . I knew someone from India would pitch in. We have a truly international community here. How great is that!

Hi Vikas, from the second point it seems pretty much clear that you do not have pre-cancer or cancer.

However, you do have a some sort of gum condition that is causing these patches. Hope that if you smoke or chew tobacco, you would have already quit. These patches are usually benign but do require treatment as it is response to some irritation.

Kindly share your details and do let us know about the treatment plan.

Dear Eshwar, thnx for your consideration the main problem is that i am not able to quit smoking and drinking completely, even after my biopsy although i have minimise it.My dentist says its a stage moving to cancer if you dn't quit smoking ang and drinking completely.
She adviced me 6 months course of medicine and after every 15 days i have to go for routine check up.She adviced me to take ZEVIT,Lycogreen and a cup of green tea daily.
According to her these white patches can take a form of cancer also, she said these white patches cannot be removed through medicines and i have to go for surgery after 6 months.
Eshwar i want to know wheather smoking and drinking will affect on this or not and these medicines are sufficient for this treatment or not.
Actually my dentist is in my blood relation thats why all the thing are not very much clear to me.
I am in a great tension these days pls help in all this
I live in North delhi and what about you

Thanks for your support

Hi Vikas, I live in East Delhi and my father was having treatment at RGCI. You have to quit smoking and drinking completely as your doctor is right. Your doctor has only prescribed Anti-oxidants for now.

The biopsy says that the white patches are not malignant but if the irritation persists, there is a possibility that they may turn malignant.

At this point of time, you are standing on the edge. Cancer is a terrible disease so quit smoking and drinking when you still have time.

Hi Eshwar,if i quit smoking and drinking from right now then it means i am on a safer side(pls clear)these days i am feeling that there is a little swelling on my face also.As advised by you and my doctor i quit from both by this point.
i will update on the same as i got any new information.
I had biopsy on 7/2/13 kindly confirm whether during these days when i was taking both the things after biopsy the things will not get worst or there are any chances of getting caught by cancer

Relax and be positive. You had a close shave and good that you have quit both. Take medicines and healthy diet as suggested by doctor. Cancer does not happen overnight, it is usually preceded by pre-malignancy stage.

Swelling may be due to some allergy, kindly consult doctor. Nothing to worry too much about.

Thanks Eshwar!!!!

Vikas, please avoid tobacco at all costs. Using tobacco is a choice and it will eventually have a major impact on your health. You do not want to go thru oral cancer all due to an unhealthy habit.

Best wishes!
