Just got released from hospital. Surgery went perfect, but post-op issues - turns out the ng tube caused nausea, so had to be removed, then so much swelling they couldn't get an iv, but all is worked out, and am recuperating at home with my family.

Thanks all! Yep the doc said I was way ahead of the curve in terms of recovery. I sound like Brando in the godfather at the moment, and cannot wait for the swelling to go down to eat something more solid.

I am totally bride of Frankenstein and made a kid cry at the store today. I've never seen a more mortified mother in my life!

I have a pretty consistent cough, which is causing some havoc with the trach stitches and wow am I drooling, and alternating with super dry mouth. Any suggestions on those would be great.

Dad finished most of the list, although grumbled about it. I blamed you Kathy!
