So Don's CT results came back with a spot on his jaw bone. The same side as his treatments. Scheduled to see his surgeon next Wednesday. Has anyone had damaged jaw bone from radiation?

Callie, there have been several members who have had problems with their jaws after treatment. It seems to me that these patients experienced their issues several years after finishing rads.

Sorry to hear about the spot. Please try not to go into panic mode! Many times it turns out to be nothing serious. It could be scar tissue. Hope so anyway!

Good luck and keep us posted!

It could definitely be scar tissue, healing, inflammation all from radiation - try not to worry yet three months out lotsnof ey es people get hot spots on their scans. Fingers crossed its nothing!

Thank you both! I'm praying it's just something from radiation. I'm trying not to worry, but I can't stop thinking, what if? I think Don is really nervous and he still is going through the stringy mucus that gags him and makes him feel nauseous.

Doctors want to do biopsy on Don next Thursday. Don't know what's going to happen if it's cancer again. I'm not sure if he can have more radiation.... for now we're just praying that they're being extra cautious.
