Hello everyone:

My name is Tim Dusek. I'm a two-time oral cancer survivor - first diagnosis 5/2010, had a partial glossectomy and neck dissection done 6/16/2010; thought everything was okay until a second diagnosis 1/3/2011, began chemo 1/17/2011, second neck dissection 2/24/2011, followed by 28 radiation treatments that completed 4/28/2011. I live in San Antonio and have met a handful of survivors from the local area. I've also participated in the two oral cancer walks that we've had in S.A. I feel a kinship with all survivors out there, and I'm hoping to get to know as many of you as possible. I'm on Facebook.

Tim D., 43, married (Maurine), San Antonio, TX. Two-time OC survivor, first diagnosis May 2010 - partial glossectomy + neck dissection (17 nodes), recurrence Jan. 2011 - chemo + 2nd neck dissection (18 nodes) + radiation, completed treatments 4/28/11, PET/CT 12/23/11 - clear, scans 6/29/12 - clear

What Tim isn't telling you is that he is also apart of the San Antonio walk committee and the first year I met him, he was going through radiation treatments.
