One of the more extreme methods was to use a feeding tube temporarily so they would slim diwn to fit into their wedding dress. This article made me furious. It seemed tp make a mockery of those of us who had to use a tube for survival during and after our treatments. Why on earth a doctor would allow someone do do this simply for the sake of vanity is beyond me. Just wanted to vent!

But I have to say, nothing surprises me anymore when it comes to human vanity. Although I am rather amazed that a doctor would actually... wait, no I'm not. Maybe there's more to the story than your local paper let on. Hmm, no, probably not.
Jeesh.

Who does this kind of procedure on a health person should have their licence removed, it neccessary and for lazy people with no self control, wanna lose weight dumbass ? Stop eating crap and start exercising.. This kind of stuff really ticks me off... It diminishes what people who have a life long dependency on tube feeds go through...

That's awesome! It seriously made me laugh at the poor suckers marrying these psychos! Dude, it doesn't matter what she looks like on the outside, she's all f'd up on the inside and YOU get to live with her!!! Better yet, she's gonna take half your sh!t in less than 5 years of complete torture!!

Women who have to have a tube stuck down their nose or their mouths wired shut to keep from shoving food down their throats have other serious mental problems. They're the crazies who envy me because I can eat all the ice cream I want and not gain an ounce, and they have the gall to say that straight to me. They don't have a clue how lucky they are to be healthy and able to eat.

I was at a meeting and someone commented on how much they liked "the new me" after I had lost so much weight. If they only knew how much I would be grateful for a few wxtra pounds if I could only eat normally again. That's partly why the article made me so mad.

Maybe it could become a new wedding anniversary tradition for these couples: she gets a tube every year to shed extra pounds and he buys sentimental jevity 1.5 instead of chocolates. Some of these comments would work nicely in the Don't you just Hate it thread. I've been told "you are lucky not to have to worry about food again or getting fat". And I guess I am. For those that can't eat, it's very hard to go out to dinner with friends and not be able to participate.
