This Saturday marks my 3rd annual free oral cancer screening in the City of Gulfport, Fl. This year I have added a free Prostrate screening as well and if all goes well I will be adding more free cancer screenings next year, like skin. The Prostrate screening is a PSA blood draw which will be sent off for testing and the results mailed to the "donor". The City of Gulfport and Walgreens, who provides the use of their parking lot, are co sponsors.
One day, perhaps as soon as next year, I envision a parking lot full of free cancer and other suitable medical testings.

We screened 125 yesterday and "referred" 10 to have another look by an ENT. We performed 38 PSA blood draws.

Great job!!!
I sure hope those 10 people are diagnosed with nothing serious. If they would be Im sure you have told them where to go for help.

Great job, David! I am happy to hear that anyone who had something questionable got the opportunity to speak with you. Its so important that they get pointed in the right direction and know they arent alone. Putting a face to oral cancer for someone can make such a huge impact on them. Too often people panic when faced with a serious illness.
At the Philadelphia walk I was sure to hand out some business cards and speak with the doctors doing the screenings. I wanted to make sure they would send anyone that could have oral cancer over to OCF and also have the ability to contact me if they wanted to.
