I could feel it up until today but tonight it is gone. It was over 1.5 inches in diameter and very hard. Now it is gone. I was at U of M on Thurseday and they said they could remove it and felt I would be a good candidate for good results. if this thing has burst and sent all that cancer throughout my neck, what happens then?

False alarm.
This thing has just gott'n so large it now feels like part of my jaw. There used to be a space betwen the jaw and the node. Now it's just right up against the jaw and I can't feel it as a seperate bump. Just feels like part of the jaw.

Keep us posted on how you're doing.

I agree with Cheryl, go get it checked out. Call today and see if there is a way you can get in right away. We have a saying around here that fits your situation "When in doubt, check it out". If it is causing you concern then you need to have it looked at. One thing I do know is lymph nodes can swell up and also can dissipate very quickly. Ive seen this in my son with one located along his jawline. Out of the blue it enlarged and then it decreased just as quickly. He is not a cancer patient, so it was a big worry but it was fine, nothing wrong. Best wishes with everything!!! They are ready to schedule me in for surgery as soon as their schedule permits (within two weeks). I have been trying to get down to M D Anderson for a second opinion. Mostly about the radiation as a follow up to the surgery. U of M said they thought I would be best served by skipping radiation due to prior treatment and see how things went. MDA has a more advanced radiation department but I cant seem to get an appointment.
I am going to schedule the procedure with U of M and see if MDA cant get me in before that surgery just in case they have a different opinion.
Will be making lots of calls tomorrow
