In the September issue of Men's health, now on the newsstands, Eric and I had portions of our cancer journey showcased in a pretty well written article on HPV and oral cancer, that actually got the majority of the facts right. OCF provided much of the background and leads to key opinion leaders for the magazine to contact. While we were not allowed to proof the article before publication for errors, they did good without us using a very serious fact checking method. And they used reputable sources like the CDC and the FDA and the NIH along with a bevy of well known doctors from good institutions.

Finally - I am about to be replaced as the poster boy for this cancer!!!! Eric did a great job. I'm getting kinda "long in the tooth" to be in front of this story anymore...

What a great article! I was so anxious to read it, I couldn't wait until the magazine store was open to go buy the September Issue so I found it online here:
http://www.menshealth.com/health/sex-cancer
I'm still going to buy the September issue, though, and share it with all three of my kids. Kudos and thanks to Brian and Eric!

Anne-Marie

Thanks for posting that link. One excerpt in that article says it all:
... Statler's and Hill's cases are success stories,

Brian:
You continue to amaze me. I used to subscribe to Men's Health until they started ending all their articles on exercises, tips, etcs appropriate for each decade of a man's life at 60. Maybe their editors are growing up.

Eric
You are so funny and spontaneous- I laughed out loud at your quote because it shows your spirit so well
But if you live in fear of either possibility, you'll be giving in to an affliction that no surgery or chemotherapy can beat. Statler certainly hasn't backed down: "For now, my wife and I haven't changed what we do in the bedroom," he says. "I just try to have as much sex with her as I can."
