so sorry to read...and you were the age i am now at your diagnosis. So frustrating to go 5 years and then it come back, frown

Dx;stage 3 SCC tongue 03/25/2010
Surgery 04/13/2010
Trach,ng tube, peg feeding tube
Hemiglossectomy, right side neck dissection, 40 lymph nodes removed. Free-Flap transplant to tongue.
30 rounds IMRT ended July 15,2010

Hi Angela,

I can so relate...my husband is about 7 year's cancer free and just had a recurrence. Fortunately like you it was caught early and they lazered it off. Just when you think you can start breathing a little easier and then whamo! Hang in there Angela. This incident made me realize that we always have to be diligent with the checkups. Early detection is the key!

Caregiver to husband Ron. Throat Cancer. Finished 35 radiation treatments on 11/21/04. 8/2/11 small lesion on lower gum, laser Procedure to remove. 3/6/12 Doc. removed another lesion on outside of his neck. Did a skin graft from his chest to replace the skin on his neck. Went to Heaven on 6/24/12.
