Dear friends,

I was going through my dad's medical reports and had a query which I forgot to ask the MO and ENT.

My father had 3 cycles of pallative DCF (Docetaxel, Cisplatin, 5-FU) chemotherapy with objective being shrinking tumor, which did not happen. However, the MRI post chemotherapy mentions that the tumor had internal necrosis. This was not the case before the chemo. Now the tumor has been operated upon and biopsy is completed so I was wondering if it is chemo-induced-necrosis.

With some types sarcoma it has significance but not sure if same applies for Carcinoma.I could not find anything relevant on Internet, so if anyone can guide me or check with their MO.

I shall be visiting the hospital on Tuesday and will try to check with Histopathology as well because they have also not mentioned anything in their biopsy report, infact the report seems to be too naive.

Thanks in anticipation.

Chemo may induce cell death but so does the cancer so you better stick with the experts handling your Dad's slides.
