This is my first time here. I have had some medical problems in the past but have done quite fine. I had a right mastectomy in '08 and a left mastectomy in '09. Very very lucky and thankful. Although I had several tumors, one with necrosis, I did not have any spread of the disease.
But I need support, at least today. I had a biopsy with an oral surgeon on Monday (it is Friday) - ulcers in my lower cheek that did not heal, over three months. The doc is supposed to call me today with the path results. I hate to bother any of you as I truly know what it is like to read these kinds of posts.. but if any of you could shoot me some positive energy and hope, I need it.

Joined: Jan 2009 Posts: 1,844 | Well, as a cancer survivor you know its not cancer until a biopsy says it is, so try and breath and wait for the results. You also know that even if it happens to be cancer it doesn't mean its a death sentence. It is scary but you are in the right place for support . Hang in there and good luck

DX 12/6/10 of T3 SCC Tongue.
Surgery 1/3/11 was hemigloss & forearm free flap, midline mandibulectomy, Neck Disection-All nodes clear.
Ended rads 5/11/11. Taste buds back to about 80%. PEG removed 4/5/12, experimenting eating real food again. If I can do this, so can you !! Stay Strong.

Julieann Nov 2007 SCC on right tonsil following tonsillectomy. Was smoker, QUIT. (Stage IV T2 N2b) 7 weeks radiation one day/wk chemo (carboplatin and 5-FU). Allergic to Taxol; PEG in, lost 30 lbs.
