So far, My doc thinks that it has not spread to the lymph nodes. So, I chose to have him monitor me via ct scans every six weeks. If the cancer is not in the lymph nodes I will not have to under go radiation. | | | | Joined: Mar 2011 Posts: 4 Member | OP Member Joined: Mar 2011 Posts: 4 | | | | | Joined: Dec 2010 Posts: 5,260 Likes: 3 "OCF Canuck" Patient Advocate (old timer, 2000 posts) | "OCF Canuck" Patient Advocate (old timer, 2000 posts) Joined: Dec 2010 Posts: 5,260 Likes: 3 | Hey - had the same surgery -6 weeks ago, are they rebuilding your tongue as well? Are you at a major cancer center for treatment? This is important stuff... Not sure of the size of your tumor but how does he know it's not in the lymph nodes? Is he planning to do a nck dissection as well? Best of luck Thursday?

Where are you being seen?
Were you a tobacco user?
What have they told you so far? Where did they find your Primary?
Any more info you can give us will help us answer your questions.

Will be thinking of you thursday and hope for swift recovery. I had my surgery almost a year ago and surgery was much easier than rad, so hopefully you won't have to have rad or chemo. What stage are you and what side of ur tongue? How much of tongue is doc thinking they'll need to remove?
