visit to dentist in april2010, referred me to oral and had a biopsy floor of mouth, confirmed positive for SCC,surgery june2010,trachy for 10days,free flap left wrist, all teeth removed,32 sessions of rad treatment, final result T2M0N0.
Thats about all I know technically and it's a bit sketchy.

Cheers

Hi Dave. Welcome to OCF. I hope you are doing alright with your recovery. Dont worry about being too technical. The members here are all just regular people. We are lucky to have a couple people around who have medical backgrounds. Best wishes to you for a speedy recovery.

Hi and a welcome from another Aussie Dave,
One of our Davids here mentioned it a while ago and it is scary that there are so many of you here.
I had the same operation but no rads so feel free to ask any questions here. There is always someone that can help. Also if you need help with the technical bits just ask.
We have also had a few here from Perth. One is a current poster and one I am afraid we have not heard from for a while. I have PMd and emailed with no reply.
Just put Perth in the search tab and you will see the posts. If you need help doing this or adding a signature just ask.
Lastly as it is now 8 months since your dentist became suspicious I am wondering how you are doing?
Cheers
Gabriele

Gabe,

Not just one of the David's, THE ORIGINAL DAVID!! LOL I said that we need to add as a cause of Oral Cancer the name David. I think, by far, the most common name on this site since I have been here (almost 5 years) is David. I might also add that the name David is also a lucky name with OC as this cancer hasn't beaten any of us to my knowledge.

Hi Dave,

I'm from Perth as well. I'm glad you found this site because this was my saviour while i was going through treatment and afterwards as well. I'm more than happy to help with any questions.

Also, i've recently just joined a head and neck cancer support group -went to my first meeting last week. It's in Shenton Park and the people there are inspiratioal and caring. Come down for support or to support others, i can give you details if you send me a private message.
