Brief history: Observed white thingy under my tongue approx end of april. Sched dental visit early may and referred to oral surgeon end of may. Examined and re=referred because of location on/near saliva gland. Examined and sched. biop surgery in June which had two lesions removed with both being cancerous. July 2 had surgery 1) under tongue 2) on jaw bone which involved a bit of grinding along the jaw.

Many bad teeth delayed radiation treatment until resolved with 12 extractions 1 restore and cleaning

Mid sept started 6 weeks of m-f treatments. Not aware of levels.

Feel great, enjoyed a full meal again on Thankgiving after weeks of soft foods.

FEEL GREAT and very Thankful. I realize recovery not immediate and only jelly bean size lump near where bone grind was.

Review appointment for Dec. 22nd.

Qtip: welcome and glad to hear you came through all that with obvious vigor and a positive attitude. It's especially amazing to me that you were able to do the Thanksgiving thing so quickly after treatment ended. Bravo!

We'll look forward to further reports.

Welcome to our family and the best to what seems like a fighter that has won a war.

Since posting this. UPMC, Pittsburgh, Oct 2011 until Jan. I averaged about 2 to 3 surgeries a week there. w Can't have jaw made as bone is deteroriating steaily that is left in jaw. Mersa is to blame. Feeding tube . Had trach for 4mos. Got it out April.

I have a younger cousin fighting a serious form of pancreatic cancer. I would feel like I let her down not to clear this lower hurdle. That's not to say I don't take it serious but I respect the more severe battles I have seen and heard of. Consider myself a rookie. Appreciate the fellow guidance and understanding of this community.

Wow Qtip! Eating on Thanksgiving - thats fab!! I'm three months out and only started eating solids now. I'm with you on feeling fortunate and blessed. There are many more who have a much harder road to travel than us. I do thank the god every day.

I was also blessed to have the opportunity to travel to Australia some 20 yrs ago. Landing in Sydney on New Years day. Resting from the flight and touring for several days, then off to Cains for more relaxation. Boarded the narrow gauge train stopping often to experience local flavor. On to Brisbane which became my favorite city in Australia. Unfortunately did not get west and to Perth. Family members have told me that Perth was their fav. city. Hope I am not too forward with this "Right on ya mate".
