I am 4 years out of treatment for SCC R Tonsil. Completed 30
rounds of IMRT at MD Anderson on9/15/10. It's been a great 4 years only complication was having a stent put in my Corotid Artery due to Radiation. Now 2 weeks after my anniversary I
find a cut on my tongue seems to burn when i eat spicey food.
A week later my dentist says it looks like trauma to the tongue
I probably bit, it a week later my PC says relax symetrical no jaged edges just a trauma healing. another week later when I think it is healing like skin growing over it my dentist makes
a appointment for a biopsy at the Oral Surgeons any of you ever have any benign biopsy results I am stressing but I know
it could be many differnt things anyone have similar experience. And does it matter that R tonsil was involved and nowits the LToungue

Sorry for the rambling completed treatment 09/15/06. I think
the stress make take more away from my life than the disease.

You're right about the stress. It can really get to you and not easy to manage, but it is possible. My son's experience was not exactly like yours, but I'm sure someone will be along with some more direct experience and suggestions. Are you waiting to have the biopsy done or just waiting for the results? A biopsy can give you more definitive results than just an exam and while you are waiting do whatever you can to distract yourself - like maybe go shopping, see a movie, talk to people, do something you like or take some deep breaths.
