CG to Mom, dx 4/25/07 with tongue cancer,T3N0,tx began 7/6/07, 31 tx's of IMRT, 8 cycles of Erbitux. Brachytherapy, surgery, left neck dissection and temp trach placed all on 9/17/07, trach removed 10/17/07. ORN of jaw, late effect of radiation symptoms. **lost my beautiful mother on 5/5/11.

Life is so precious and it hurts to lose someone who's been such a good friend over the years. I hope that you and his family can comfort each other and cherish the happy memories of your time together.

I guess 80 lbs , a Turkey neck and no teeth or tongue must show up. LOL I did get to talk to a lot of them I haven't seen in a few years so it was an OK type of day.
Since posting this. UPMC, Pittsburgh, Oct 2011 until Jan. I averaged about 2 to 3 surgeries a week there. w Can't have jaw made as bone is deteroriating steaily that is left in jaw. Mersa is to blame. Feeding tube . Had trach for 4mos. Got it out April.

You and your friends family are in my thoughts

So sorry- I know it must be very sad for yo right now.

My Dad has had his best friend for almost 66 years now - he introduced my parents to each other and I know how close they are. Please cherish those many years of what must be wonderful memories. Remember you can talk to him anytime - he will hear you!
CG/Mom: 5 1/2 years SCC upper palate,4 recurrences, surgeries, chemo & radiation. Mom went to Heaven 1/21/11.

When that happens all we can do is think of the happy days we had with our parents and occasionaly, we smile at things they did or said. My prayers are with you.

Clear at the 6 year mark!
Back to swimming, biking and running! just a tad slower
never regained my weight, even when I eat lots and lots, just a skinny guy now
Just way glad to be seeing the green side up!
