My husband is a 2 year survivor of head and neck cancer. His been doing very well. This morning he woke up with his ear and jaw swollen(same side as neck dissection and radiation tx), nausea and vomiting and a headache. Has anyone experienced this symptom? Could it be cancer tx related or something else? Any advise would be helpful.

Hi Diane,

I've had a couple of infections in radiated areas and this sounds like it might be Cellulitis or some other type of infection. Get him to a Doctor or Hospital ASAP as he may need to placed onto IV anti-biotics. Both times when I had infections the swollen areas were also very hot and red and I was hospitalised both times.

Good Luck
Sue
