mom has infection from needle biopsy in jaw

i am cruising all over looking for some info on infection from needle biopsy...HELP!
hoping this finds you all healthy.
mom just went up to her room in tears. she is frustrated in pain and feels so misunderstood.

CG to Mom, dx 4/25/07 with tongue cancer,T3N0,tx began 7/6/07, 31 tx's of IMRT, 8 cycles of Erbitux. Brachytherapy, surgery, left neck dissection and temp trach placed all on 9/17/07, trach removed 10/17/07. ORN of jaw, late effect of radiation symptoms. (still trying to decipher what else...)

Best thing is for her to get antibiotics and soon. I have a bottle of them but it is too late to travel that far.

I finally found my list and dates but will do it this way to save time..From April 2007 - now. 144 trips for Drs and treatments-10 MRIs-14 CTScans-9 scopes- 7 Pets- 24 surgeries. Dates and procedures are to many to have room for. Another time for that. The Heart tests are not here either.

Dr. Jim is right. I hope they put her on an antibiotic. Is he on one?

Is your mom feeling any relief today Donna? I thought about her the 1st thing this morning. I did have morphine to help control this pain in between doses of percocet from my team of 3 pain control Drs. Maybe this could help your Mom?? Thinking I might call and get what I turned down yesterday. In between meds do help .

she is still in a great deal of pain. trismus has set in. she can't take percocet, it made her ill and her throat turned red.
how do i get her to listen and reason??????
my poor dad is exhausted. he's scared. he is so good to her.
i should go to the island....

Geez Donna, I feel so bad for her and your dad and you too. No one knows what hell we go thru but us. We will all take it and not the alternative. If you feel pain then you are alive and breathing.

So sorry to hear of your moms struggles with getting the pain under control. This might be a silly question....is she on the patch? If her pain is that bad and I know its been going on for a while, that might be something to look into. Can always up the dose and take break-thru meds too. Hope she feels relief very soon.

so sorry yall are going thru this donna. pain should be the easiest thing to manage, but as we tooo often see--its not always the case. this really sucks!
