Just wanted to find out if anyone knows: My husband is now almost 5 years post radiation and chemo from tongue cancer that was T4N2cM0 and is now down to a yearly exam from his otolaryngologist. He hasn't had any CT, MRI or PET scans post treatment. How important is this? Should he ask for one? Just wondering. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I am thinking most Drs want a scan of sometype to check things out inside our upper bodies. Ask his ENT or Oncologist about a scan.

Since posting this. UPMC, Pittsburgh, Oct 2011 until Jan. I averaged about 2 to 3 surgeries a week there. w Can't have jaw made as bone is deteroriating steaily that is left in jaw. Mersa is to blame. Feeding tube . Had trach for 4mos. Got it out April.
