That sounds delicious, but my taste buds are so gone that chocolate, which used to be my fave, is now the worst tasting thing for me.

Chocolate also tasted like crap, likewise for all fresh fruits (except bananas) but chances are it will come back, mine did.

I could try it with vanilla ice cream. I can still eat that, because it does not have any flavor at all.

Vanilla ice cream is a great idea, never thought of it. When I would make these shakes, I would make enough to fill an X-Lg McDonald's cup. Topping it off with whipped cream. I would drink at least one daily, sometimes I would have 3 in one day. Never gained an ounce.

During tx I would also drink Yoohoo and could taste it perfectly.

For the majority of us treated with radiation, absent major tongue surgery, everything returns to near normal including one's ability to gain weight. I thought I would never like to eat oranges, chocolate, Gatorade, hot spicey foods, gain weight, etc again but by my 15th month post Tx all was pretty much back to normal again for me.

That said, ANYONE can be different coming out of our Tx so I do go out on a limb sometimes and try to generalize.

Carmen dont worry about the weight gain. Maybe Im an exception but, I didnt gain weight. I lost 65 during round 1 in 2007 and lost another 5 recently. Now, thinking about it maybe I am an odd (LOL) one cuz I didnt lose my taste for chocolate. I drank yoohoo and these shakes.

I was one that didn't loose the taste for chocolate, in fact one of the first things I was eating after the PEG was gone was homemade CC cookies, by the pan full, every night ! smile

I though I was going to have to buy stock in Nestles....
