So the same old story. Our insuance will not cver the therabite. It seems they won't cover anything that smacks of TMJ or dental. I had to pay $170 for my floride trays! Anyway, I was wondering if anyone had an idea where I could obtain a therabite inexpensively. I know it would really help me after reading the many posts about them here. My ENT is scolding me because I did not get one yet. I have been out of work for 4 months and can't afford the $420 it costs. This is the first time I have posted here, but I am always reading. It is nice to know I am not alone...

I actually found one on Ebay that was fairly new and not used much. I bid and got it for about $160. As it turned out, Bill did not need it so I mailed it to another OCF member that needed it.

Perhaps there is a someone reading this today that might not be using theirs and can do the same??

Good luck, Deb

We couldn't get such a thing in India. We had to buy popsickle sticks and insert one at a time to gently expand and stretch my FIL's mouth, where he would bite down and then relax for 60 seconds morning and evening. It's best to do after some jaw warm-up first.

He was OK. This is one idea, anyways. No kidding!

FIL completed treatment 10/08. CG to father in Law in india who had SCC oral tongue T2N2M0. FIL underwent surgery, neck dissection, IMRT, and erbitux without losing weight or getting nauseated. Completed October 2008. SO far so good.
