They took 7 hours to push the Cisplatin and did three days of IV fluids and anti-nausea. Still not peachy keen but miles better than last time.
As for the throat, solid foods are a thing of the past. Soups and smoothies and (Yuck) carnation instant breakfast. Biggest issue lately is the super thick muscus and trying to clear out my throat and tongue in the morning.

Bob age 57, non smoker,non drinker, ended treatment on 11 Nov 2007 and started back to work on 29 Nov 2007. Veterans Day 2012 the Battle was lowered, folded, Taps was played and the Flag buried as I am know a 5 year survivor. Semper-FI !!!

My partner Steve is just under a week past the end of 7 weeks treatment. It's hard and some days are tougher than anything we've ever faced before but you get through it. He was lucky enough to not get any mouth soreness until week 7 and his neck got pretty red but is healing well. I think the sore neck appeared week 5 and the doc's gave us silverzine cream which works well. Steve hated chemo the most but luckily we faced the last one of that last wednesday. I'll be thinking of you, keep going and before you know it, it will be over and you can mend.

T4N2MO SCC tongue, floor of mouth, lymph nodes & jaw bone No surgery Teeth removed 06/07/2009 radiation 13/07/2009 x 7wks chemo 15/07/2009 x 3 Cisplatin last TX 28/08/2009 25/11/2009 PET-lymph node activity. 08/01/2010 CT Scan-ALL CLEAR 03/03/2010-Peg removed 01/2013 left side of Jaw removed and replaced with pectoral flap. 23/12/2020 scan show lesion in tongue 01/2021 SCC stage 3 base of tongue diagnosed 01/03/2021 chemotherapy started.
