OP JohnJr Member Joined: Aug 2016 Posts: 14	My dad this past Thursday had his partial glossectomy and neck dissection completed. Both the removal and reconstruction went well. The surgeons we had were great and the care hes gotten so far has been wonderful. My dad was pretty rough the first few days. But now hes up and walking a little and is covering his trach and trying to talk lol The only thing he hates is the trach. Im hoping its out soon enough for his sake! Taxol/carboplatin July/14. Esophagus re-opened Oct 14. PEG out April 8, 2015. Phase 2 trial of Selinexor April to July 2015. At peace Jan 15, 2016.

Although your dad went through a much tougher go than I, I can sympathize with the trach issue! I had one for about a week and couldn't wait for them to take it out. But it'll happen and then he'll be on the road. What's next for him - rads, chemo? Keep us posted and ask any and all questions you can think of.
