Leslie

April 2006: Husband dx by dentist with leukoplakia on tongue. Oral surgeon's biopsy 4/28/06: Moderate dysplasia; pathology report warned of possible "skip effect." ENT's excisional biopsy (got it all) 5/31/06: SCC in situ/small bit superficially invasive. Early detection saves lives.

Thanks, Leslie. That's what got Tony Gwynn and what's getting Jim Kelly. Hope these guys' experiences will serve as motivators.

The irony of all this is how much a problem it is in high school sports and college sports and (at worst) the coaches that encourage the use of it all or (at best) don't discourage the use of smokeless. It brings nothing of value to the sport. When some of those individuals are put under a light we may see a change.

Let's hope so, Brian. At least today I read there's some promising news for Jim Kelly, who's NED after his latest scans.
