I am currently on a feeding tube with it being removed on Fri. I'm scared because I still haven't found a lot of what I can eat/Tolerate. I seem to get heartburn easily. Tomato is too acidic for me at all..Please give suggestions because I need them!

I am surviving on Ensure plus, Ice Cream and Carnation Instant Breakfast shakes. I have tried Ramen Noodles but I cant eat them quick enough before they get thick and cold.

Lost right palate of my mouth. An opterator closes the gap between my mouth and Nasal Cavity. I have sinus infections/swelling on my right facial area. I can not open mouth enough to get a spoon in. All lymph nodes in my neck/chin are gone.

Your other post mentioned you were dependent on the tube but then a couple sentences later you said it was coming out on Friday. If you are not able to go without using the feeding tube for at least a month then it should NOT be removed. Its much better to work on relearning to eat and not rush removing the tube too soon. None of us like using a feeding tube! But when you need one then its necessary. By removing the tube when you are not ready is not going to be productive in your recovery at all. I highly recommend postponing your removal appointment until you have been able to go without using the tube for at least one month. By removing it too soon, you are risking your health and setting yourself up for some big problems down the road.

Please use caution with this! Best wishes!

All my best to you. There is a powder in the health food sections of most grocery stores I think it was egg white protein. We would blend some of that with some frozen berries and add some heavy cream. Maybe get a juicer and try juicing a lot of veggies? I'm trying to think of things you can use with a straw. Will you later be able to open your mouth further? Can you chew? If so, maybe some scrambled eggs with some diced sauteed veggies? Eating is such a struggle for my husband as well since he doesn't have his saliva glands anymore. Like you, tomato based things are out of the question. We made potato soup. maybe if you blended it fairly well, you might be able to eat through a straw once it cools? I'm sure you've already thought of these, but if not, I hope this may help a little.
