As a qualified member of the Club-Infirm, I have come to recognize the power that Care Givers give to us all.
Not only the targeted-infirm, but also those who simply notice your attention and concern given to other humans in your presence.

The older I get, the more Respect I have for Care Givers, those of you willing to touch us with your hands, your attention, your concern, your time; I know it makes you feel good to do these things, however, Im not sure you appreciate how much MAGIC you carry in your actions.

You truly help us Want to continue our life force, to continue appreciating sunrises, rainbows, flowers, birds, children playing, hearing laughter, thunder, rain, all the gifts Mother Earth has bestowed on us.

Your efforts help us remember the pleasant points of our own lives, your efforts help us want to NOT disappoint you, nor waste your efforts.

GOD Bless you, as you bless us.

Hi Paul,

Thank you for writing such a beautiful thank you note to the caregivers here. You are kind and thoughtful to express in writing the heartfelt appreciation that so many caregivers often long to hear.

I feel blessed to count the wonderful people on this forum among my family. There is an incredible generosity of spirit here from patients, survivors, caregivers and co-survivors. I would have been lost if not for their support. I can only hope that I would rise to the challenge with as much courage and strength as they possess if I have the opportunity to be a caregiver again.

Thank you. God bless you, dear survivor!

Love,
Sandy

So well said, Sandy - I, too feel blessed to have found this wonderful family. When I first came here, years ago my heart was breaking and I didnt know what was ahead for my son. I felt as though I was hanging on to a sharp cliff by my fingernails, slowly slipping off into the darkness below. I was sitting alone in the Rad waiting room waiting for my son when young man, as he left for his treatment, bent over and whispered to me: Go to Oralcancerfoundation.org. I did and I found caregivers and patients all here for me, helping me to climb up that cliff to sanity and the most compassionate help, good practical advice and the most accurate and latest information found anywhere. Caregivers and survivors alike helped to guide my son and me through the really rough spots. Some of the survivors were going through their own hell in surviving but took the time to help my son in his own battle of surviving. Yes, we are a family here, and if I can help anyone on this difficult journey, it is only because of what Ive learned from others who, with such giving hearts, helped my son to survive. What a wonderful thing Brian did to make this all possible for all of us!
