Hello to all on this forum!

I come from the third world developing country. I have a lump on my gum, approx. 8 mm. with elevated hard centre, whitish in colour, not painful. It persists for more than a year now. It is not growing, but the gums nearby and around are changing in colour and structure, with roots of my teeth becoming visible. All doctors whom I've seen refuse to make biopsy. I did panoramic x-ray of the jaws and PET/CT scan, nothing came up. At the same time I've got persistent otitis that comes and goes for the past year. Very worried.

They did try FNA but I think they missed it only fibrocyte and eritrocyte. came out. Is there any other non invasive method to check this?

Welcome to the forum. Please understand that we are a group of patients/survivors and caregivers. We are not medical professionals and do not have the medical training or knowledge to diagnose. You won’t want us to tell you what we think is wrong just from your description since that would be very irresponsible of us. What kind of doctors have you seen, dentists, oral surgeons or ENT’s with specialty in oncology. It may make some difference. If the PET/CT scan did not pick up anything, maybe there’s nothing to pick up?
Unfortunately we cannot give any diagnosis over the internet. Our site is caregivers and oral cancer patients/survivors, not medical professionals. We do not have years of medical school, clinical patient experience or any other special medical training. I suggest seeking out a doctor who specializes in treating ear, nose and throat (ENT) patients, specifically oral cancer. Any spot or lesion anyone has in their mouth that does not heal on its own with 2-3 weeks should be checked by a professional. By professional I mean an ENT or equally trained specialist such as an oral surgeon. Only a biopsy will tell you for certain exactly what it is in your mouth. Hopefully its nothing serious.

PS... Your profile says you are from Oklahoma???

My profile says Oklahoma since I cannot find my country on the list smile

Thanks indeed for all the feedback. I understand there cannot be a diagnosis over internet, and I'm just venting here I guess..

Well, I'm trying to seek proper medical advice, but it's not easy in the current context... I was just wondering if there is smth. that is not necessarily picked up on PET/CT... maybe there is an online resource whereby radiologists provide the second opinion on PET/CT scans? Like Radiology forum?

There are some comprehensive cancer centers that may provide a second opinion by email. It is likely to be a paid service. I would suggest that you go to the hospital website and look up their international clients department.
