Merry Christmas to everyone!!

I trust you are having a wonderful time with family and friends. Other than my religious beliefs, the greatest gift of all is the gift of health and being able to share another Christmas season with those who have been dealing with cancer. It is a little over a year since Jeff was diagnosed and when I look back over the last year although it has been one of uncertainty and trials going through treatment there have been numerous blessings. Last January being able to travel to CA as our son was married, being able to go on a cruise with my husbands 81 year old mother, having a beautiful new granddaughter to join my 2 grandsons, and recently spending Thanksgiving in NY with some of our children and then going on a cruise by ourselves. One of my biggest joy has been watching my husband triumph over his cancer. He has been a pastor at the same church for 30 years. After the first surgery he lost his right vocal cord which left him with a voice that sounds like he has laryngitis all the time, with no volume. (My biggest problem is finding him in our house but he has a great whistle although often times it is just the dog he is calling and not me.) I have been so proud of him as he said he would speak again and he did less than 2 months after surgery. With a head set mic he does ok and the people in our church have been wonderful although we don't know what the future holds. His attitude has been great overall and especially since he will drink about anything I make for him, (carrot juice, Chaga tea) take the handful of supplements although he about choked on one of the pills recently, and leave the sugar alone when I get radical and drink the green veggie shakes I blend. I think he is even planning on giving up coffee the first of the year. He definitely has his strength back, he was playing mercy with our 27 year old who works out everyday and after a long battle they finally called it since it was a stalemate. After treatment he could not even shot a basket into the hoop.

Although I never would of imagined we would be done this road we have met a lot of wonderful people staying at the Hope Lodge in Mpls. and I greatly appreciate this board and all the support and information I have gained.

Have a wonderful New Year!!

Terri
