Finally starting Cisplatin (3x) with radiation (33 zaps) on Monday. Having to go in tomorrow to update tumor target on IMRT with my previously made mask.
Thanks to all for your encouraging words and very useful information.
Scared but not alone.
Wishing for everyone the best,
Steve

Steve it is good to see that you now have a plan. Keep the group informed as you progress with treatment and ask questions. Let those who have gone before you guide you. Best as you move forward. Jim

Ditto what JamesD wrote. Treatment is brutal. Cisplatin put me in chemo fog for 3-4 days. I might have written this before, but it is worth repeating. Have paper and pencil by your pills. Write down the date, time, and what you took.

Also to get the most out of people ahead of you and help the people behind you, Post often. Thoughts, feelings, pains, and triumphs are all good to share.

I agree, a paper and pen to write down what and when you took meds is a good idea. I used one of those pill organizers.

I would fill up my morning/afternoon/evening doses. When it came time, I didn't have to think about it. they were all there for the waiting. I still use it today (less meds thank goodness!)

Steve, so glad things are getting underway for you! I like the ideas folks are offering on med tracking, that really is a challenge with the suite of anti-nausea meds that comes with Cisplatin treatment. Lots of good advice above, so I'll just add that you're in my thoughts and prayers and I hope all goes smoothly for you!

Hugs,

Mama

I used/use a pill organizer too. The worst part is filing the week worth of medicine each Sunday or whatever day is chosen, but helps keep tract.
