I went back to the dermatologist at Cleveland Clinic for a 6 week follow up on Wed., she said that there is now leukoplakia in the right cheek. She also said that the length of the left side of my tongue is not thrush as I thought it was, but lichens planus. And she still maintains that the goober on my left tonsil is a tonsil stone. Although I haven't gotten much if any relief from the 3 medications that were prescibed, Dexamethasone rinse, Dapsone, and Diflucan, I'm supposed to stick with them, and they added samples of "Protopic", which I used on my tongue and got relief, but then found it has a black box warning CAUSES CANCER. I've been in this pain since mid January. Am seeking a second opinion Thurs. 5/8. I will research more on this site about the leukoplakia, and lichens planus, but welcome any input you might have, any treatment protocol that shows any promise, or any relief from this pain...not done whining yet, and my throat still hurts!
