Will you please recommend a good cookbook for those of us who have been out of treatment a couple of months, but of course are still learning what we can and cannot tolerate. I am trying to get rid of my PEG.

Thank You,
Patricia

There are a number of cookbooks named in this part of the forum, if you go to search or check the posts further below. I forget the names off hand, and too lazy to check my library, and have several of them. Easy to chew, easy to swallow, sounds familiar. SPOHNC, support for people oral, head and neck cancer, has two books also. Good luck.

This may help you with relearning to eat. Its probably all about the texture of food right now. Plus of course things arent tasting quite right at this time which makes it even harder. Keep trying different things as your sense of taste can change almost daily. One day something may taste like burnt cardboard and the next day it will be the best thing you have ever eaten. Beware, in another 2 weeks it could go back to tasting like cardboard again. Recovery is a strange time full of ups and downs and setbacks but you need ot keep trying different things. Here is a list of foods that are easier to eat. I hope this helps.

Paul,

I appreciate your suggestion, but I do not see any other posts about cookbooks. Truthfully, I am having problems navigating on this sight. I do not even know how to post other then in the reply section. Who can help ?
