Hello,

I have read on several other threads that most all recommend a CCC Hospital. I see the closest to me are either Lincoln (doesn't seem to have a head and neck specialization), Houston - Anderson. My question is..What about KU Medical Center?? I have read their website and see they have a head and neck program, but I know it's not a recognized CCC. Any thoughts about KU Med? Obviously, from a logistics standpoint that would be my obvious choice, however I wouldn't want to receive less than optimal treatment just because it was easier logistically. Any thoughts on the best option???

I received my treatment at KU Med. Their ENT program is top notch. My physician was the chairman of the department, and is a compassionate and caring doctor. I travel twice a year to see him for my follow up appointments. They are in the process of application for the designation, have met all preliminary fund raising requirements, grants, etc. My treatment followed MD Anderson treatment protocols. It is a great facility. Feel free to email or private message me for specific information.

Sincerely,
Lisa

Hi
Does anyone know of a comprehensive cancer center near Tampa Florida? My friend's mom just got news yesterday that she has lung and liver cancer. Obviously this is quite serious and we would like her to be seen by the best. Any recomendations would be appreciated.
Thanks
Tami

Tami.... I wouldn't let geography dictate where I went for treatment.

With that being said Brian, which center should be investigated for this type of cancer? Details are sketchy at this point. My friend's mom is in her denial phase and not being forth coming. So the primary site is unknown. All that we know is it is in the liver and lungs.

MD Anderson has a facility in Tampa that was highly recommended to me by John N, I believe. (One of our Florida posters.) Hope that helps, Tami.

Gary has posted several times a link to CCC in the USA. You can go to the search engine at the top of the page, you should be able to find it.
