I am a little frightened because of the amount of radiation connected to this type of test, especially because mucoepideroid can apparently be caused by over use of x rays. I would prefer an MRI. Am I worrying for nothing or should I be brave and ask why not the MRI? Does anyone know which test is more accurate, my surgery was 1 year ago and this is my first scan since surgery.

Don't fret about the radiation aspect; one test is not going to make any real difference.
The Doctor has probably got good reasons for ordering a CT as opposed to an MRI...don't second guess them. Ask them why, certainly, but I think you're worrying unnecessarily Wayne

Here is a dumb question! Do you type in the particulars of your cancer everytime you post or is there a way to type it once and then it appears with each post? Adele

We all felt at times like that, as we just did not know certain things. Your info Dx Tx can be written in your "signature". Go to the faq and look up "signature". It is found in "My profile". Go to it, then click edit profile, and type in the "signature" box. You can change it any time to keep it current.
