Well, everyone, they let me go home for a breather today the 7th. I have more work scheduled after a couple more appts in the next couple of months. I have surgery below my right ear where Ohio State said there isn't anything wrong LOL, just cancer, and after that the right side nodes one day soon too. Like I said before, I'm gonna beat this stuff and live another 20 yrs or more. I missed not reaing the postings daily for the past 8 or 9 days, but will be back to normal soon. I am staying at my daughter's tonight, and sure will be at church Sunday.. Luv Ya All

Since posting this. UPMC, Pittsburgh, Oct 2011 until Jan. I averaged about 2 to 3 surgeries a week there. w Can't have jaw made as bone is deteroriating steaily that is left in jaw. Mersa is to blame. Feeding tube . Had trach for 4mos. Got it out April.

So good to have you back Jim,we were all in there with you. All of these "friends" on here are the best we could ask for. You will feel better each day. Take it easy on yourself-just don't get carried away!You got this one licked!

Partial mandibulectomy and neck dissection 2/3/07. T2NOMO.
Had 14 hour operation which included reconstruction of jaw.
Reconstruction failed. Some radiation, no chemo.

Age 58 at Dx, HPV16+ SCC, Stage IV BOT+2 nodes, non smoker, casual drinker, exercise nut, Cisplatin x 3 & concurrent IMRT x 35,(70 Gy), no surgery, no Peg, Tx at Moffitt over Aug 06. Jun 07, back to riding my bike 100 miles a wk. Now doing 12 Spin classes and 60 outdoor miles per wk. Nov 13 completed Hilly Century ride for Cancer, 104 miles, 1st Place in my age group. Apr 2014 & 15, Spun for 9 straight hrs to raise $$ for YMCA's Livestrong Program. Certified Spin Instructor Jun 2014.

I see that you had people feeding us misinformation, Jim -- you are your same cantankerous self!!!!! Welcome back buddy!! Good to see you are still in the battle. A lot of thoughts and prayers have been aimed in your direction recently. Glad they were heard!

Scotslass,friend of June, diagnosed in Oct.2007 and beginning treatment this month chemo and radiation.Cancer in the neck with unknown primary...wrapped around carotid artery.

Dad had oral lichens planus, and oral leukoplakia before T2 SCC,2 nodes.
DX10/23/03
IMRT 12/29/03.30 rad,3 boost.
Brachytherapy 3/8-3/11/04.
Recurrence Nov07 Stage IV.
4 Surgeries
No rads, no chemo
I have oral lichens planus,

Hi EzJim, YAY! Congratulations on getting out of the hospital!! You must be a very strong, determined human--and one with a great sense of humor, it sounds like! Non-smoker non-drinker, 50 when diagnosed 9/11/06 stage IV scc of oropharnyx, malignant lymph nodes both sides of neck. Cause=HPV16. Daily chemo & daily IMRT for 7 weeks. In 2 clinical trials at Johns Hopkins, good results. Peg tube out March 07. Update September 2014: gratefully in good health!

CG to Father, 75 yo with SCC of the mouth; upper maxillectomy and neck diss. performed on 5/23/07. Father also suffered heart attack during surgery and now has CHF. RT complete on 8/28/07. Cancer back 11/27/07. RT and Chemo to start on 12/17. Cancer back 6/17/08. Finally at rest 08/08/08.

OK all, I lied. LOL I drove home from my daughters last nite and had the best sleep I've had for days. I want to thank everyone for their prayers and best wishes,. David,, you weren't supposed to tel them I was still here spying LOL... And yes Jeff, there is some missinfo here. LOL BarbT and my daughter stuck with me like glue. I couldn't be more proud of either of them. Watch out for me and work too. THey must be tougher then I AM!!!!

Successful lumpectomy, sentinal nodes clear, RT only-2008 Reconstruction of mandible w fibula free flap-Jan 09. TORS removal of begnin pappiloma from esophagus-2010. Masectomy,rt breast 2013.
