I had to see the sirgeon this morning before Rads. He informed me that there is something at the base of my tongue. So therefore, Monday I will get the pre op out of the way and Tuesday I will go to the OR for more biopsies. Man , this is a never ending routine it seems. THe Dr had my lips bleeding more than usual but he had no choice. LOL I hear I'm sorry for hurting you Jim but!!! This stuff sure is making it hard to whip, but I am gonna do it. There can't be anything left to throw at me I hope. Have GOOD DAY ALL.

Since posting this. UPMC, Pittsburgh, Oct 2011 until Jan. I averaged about 2 to 3 surgeries a week there. w Can't have jaw made as bone is deteroriating steaily that is left in jaw. Mersa is to blame. Feeding tube . Had trach for 4mos. Got it out April.

I have 2 more rads. I think my mouth is ruined like my mind is LOL I am always bleeding from my dry cracked lips. The inside of them is milk white and sore as hell. They said agressive and they weren't kidding.

Jim,

Hang tough. Yeah I know how you feel right now and it may even get a little worse over the next 2 weeks or so but soon all these nasty problems will fade into the distance along with your cancer. It's very important to remind you to keep pouring down that water and food each and every day. It's probably more critical now than ever before. This is it, the last hill to climb so push that trains throttle and get to the top.

Thanks all and I will post after I get home from rads today. Gpoing to havt to move some snow to get out this morning and the temp is 2 degrees. One pass each way in the driveway with the snowblower will get me out. Freezing rain tonite they are predicting so therefore I think a stop at Sam's Club for ice melter is in order. Have a good day.

Boy you are really brave and stoic Jim. I need to feel your strength. I get strong for a moment and then they blindside me and I go all to pieces. But I make it through. You are just ready
for anything. Hang in there, you will come through this with flying colors. Leave the snow alone, it will melt all on it's own. You need rest and quiet. I will be thinking of you!

Well , this morning I finished the rads and had the pre op for next Tues and friday. I brought that ugly rad mask home. LOL Maybe someone will use it as Michael this Halloween. I'm off now until Tues at 11:30AM. I just have to find something away from home. Probably visit my kids and grandkids. For sure I will be here Sat for Brenda's prayer service. That is the #1priority.

Jim, congrats for making it through the rads. We've got Dan's mask hidden away somewhere. He didn't want it, but my kids thought we should keep it. Sorry you have to have more biopsies, my goodness, you sure have been through a lot.

You are one tough guy! Keep up the fighting spirit!!

Congratulations Jim. I still have that damn mask. I even took it on the plane and to the Fl House when I testified on the Gardasil Vaccination Bill. hasn't left it's room since.

I'm sure you'll do fine next week. How many days will you be without a computer?

Congratulations on your birthday. Keep on fighting and we all will be praying that you come out on top of this. If that mask really is yours, I am assuming that it isn't very scarey because it has the big smile of a winner. Enjoy the time with your family.

Larrysdaughter, I didn't 48-lbs but have lost 44. LOL I wonder if your dad feels skinny like I do. I don't even know the guy in the mirror looking back at me. I think they gave me some extra, " Let's Knock Him Out " meds today. I can't seem to keep my eyes open. In fact, I'm going to go lay in bed and hope either the pain lets up or I go to sleep.

Hi, Jim. I finally got logged onto this sight. I figured it was easier for you to talk this way. Ryan called last night and gave us the update on you. When you get to Lori's, we'll be able to help her and Ryan take care of you. I love you, Big Brother. Like I told you before, when you're hurting and too weak to believe for a miracle, we'll believe God for you. Carol

Jim, I don't know if you are still reading this but I just wanted to say how much it concerns me that you've lost 44 pounds during treatment. Over how many weeks is that? 7? 8? That is a dangerous rate at which to lose weight and it really doesn't matter whether you "had it to lose". It's a clear sign you aren't getting the nutrition your body desperatly needs right now.

In another topic, you were bragging about not having a PEG but given your weight loss your doctor should be insisting on the PEG if he wants to see you survive this and be around for a while afterwards.

I really love your spirit and how much you ahve survived in your life and that is why it just really concerns me that you would do this to your body, on top of what the cancer treatment is doing to your body. You need to get enough nutrition and clearly you are not getting enough of it orally. Other people here who say they are your friends, and who you regard as friends, should be pushing you to get the PEG too right now. If they really care about you and your your health, instead of some anti-PEG agenda, they would be.

I was brought up to accept the actions caused by myself and not to sluff it to anyone else. Barb, no one in my family blames you for anything. You gotta loose that complex. OK?

Jim, you'll be in my thoughts and prayers Friday and over the weekend. I'm glad you'll have family members supporting you and I'm glad you're going to take care of yourself in terms of nutrition even if it means getting the PEG. Hang in there, tough guy!

Hi, Barb. As you can see, I didn't respond to your message right away. Whatever happened between you and my brother is between you two, and it's none of my business, nor is this sight the proper place to bring it up. I'm here to support and love my brother through this ordeal he is going through. He may not be perfect, but he is my brother, and I love him. I've learned from experience you cannot go through life running away from problems that seem too difficult to handle. You have to face the head-on, and w deal with them. And that's what my brother, Jim, our entire family, and I are doing. We're dealing with it, supporting him, loving him, and we'll be there for him no matter what. You have a good day, and take care of yourself.

Hi, Jim. I tried to get Friday off, but couldn't get it. I will be praying for you. Have Lori call me and let me know what happens. I love you, Big Brother.

I do have to say this in Barb's defense.. She was the only one there for me for many months and never backed off 1 time. She was great. I needed her in my corner to help me start this fight that continues.
