Hi Friends:

After a brief hiatus from posting courtesy of houseguests, kids and hockey, and ex-husbands acting not so nicely, I'm back on behalf of Dave and myself to say we've missed you!

I have been following the board despite having little time to post and want to say how nice it is to be back.

For the newer members, I will recap that my partner Dave was diagnosed in August, 2003 with a Stage III tonsillar tumor and underwent a radical neck dissection in September,2002 followed by bilateral radiation. He had one positive lymph node.

For those of you that don't know, the biggest, most hopeful recent news is that Dave and I got engaged on Christmas Day!

The second biggest news is that Dave's first official post-treatment day back to work is today. He is looking skinny but craving sweets, still tired but trying, and speaking softly but husky is sexy!

So, we are officially in post-treatment checks and scans mode and I'm trying not to panic but more on that later.

For now, it's great to be back among my favorite company of friends!

Cheers,

Kim

Dave & Kim,

It's is great to have you back...I have missed your contributions to the board. Whether they be technical or just your own special brand of cheer leading.

Glad to hear Dave is back at work today. Each milestone is so important. They'll just keep oncoming!!!

And lest I forget - CONGRATS!!! Life does go on!!!

Welcome back,
Dinah

Hi Dave & Kim,

Welcome back. I signed on today with the express purpose of trying to find out how the two of you were doing. Missed you but hoped it was the holidays that were keeping you busy.

Great to hear Dave is back to work and craving sweets. Good for him. I couldn't tell sugar from salt at that point, but was able to eat foods that came with lots of sauce. Now is the time to think 'fine french food', lots of sauce, lots of calories and no burning spices.

Congrats on your engagement and keep us posted on how things are going.

Eileen
